The Mayan squirrel is just what the name says, and if Mayans had squirrels (and who says they didn’t?) I suppose this is how it would be depicted. I tried to capture that mouth that all Mayan animals have, with lips and gums and big teeth, and give it a little boxiness overall. It is similar- but smaller- to a squirrel I did in the past in a much larger scale- and not Mayan. Overall I like it a lot- 4.5 out of 5! But that dang stone- you never know what’s in it until you polish it up. Sea shells, a thin light colored layer, tiny rocks- they are all in there. But I suppose they all add character.
