V. Cafe

This is another favorite, because it turned out pretty much the way I envisioned it. Granted, my pictures here absolutely suck and they don’t show out the details like I would like them to, but I’m not a photographer and my little Kodak (yes, a Kodak, don’t judge me) has only so much ability. It is a coffee cup of the style I use at home, with a relief of buildings similar to our downtown in the style of a wonderful local ceramist, Susan Dodge. I was leery about the spoon the whole time carving it out, if you break it, there’s no more spoon. But I managed, so long as you grind it away instead of hitting it with a chisel things seem to stay where they are supposed to. And, of course, a couple of Oreo-like cookies. Maybe Hydrox for those who still remember Hydrox Cookies. Overall I’d say I was pretty happy with the results. 4.5 out of 5. I hope somebody finds it as I planted it in an odd place near The Showroom restaurant, not exactly in a place someone would look other than the gardener!

Update: I moved it to a coffee shop in town, but I’m afraid no one will pick it up because it looks like it belongs there. At least it has a home.
