XXV. Fredericktown House

Finally done with the Saint Chuck Project and time to get back to some fun stuff. This piece is actually a test piece- I wanted to see if I could make a good representation of a typical downtown Frederick house. The thought being that I could make larger ones and assemble them side-by-side, my own Market Street. Of course, where do you put your own private Market Street? That decision is for some other day. But I think it turned out well so now I need to think of where I want to take this idea. I tried to sneak in some little details- the top hat window treatment in the attic window, the storefront detail (think Kitchenette!) with a transom and corbels, even a fan in the window on one side. You might notice that the lines aren’t straight an the chimney is askew- on purpose! These were inspired by the ceramic artist Susan Dodge’s work, which I like so much. Calling it, 5 out of 5.
